Concord Chamber of Commerce Request for
November 13 Recycling Pickup
IRN is pleased to partner with the Concord Chamber of Commerce to offer
city-wide collection of electronics, “Universal” wastes
like fluorescents and batteries, and other oddball materials on November
13. Working with over 200 organizations of all sizes, we know
these are things that pile up in basements and storage areas. Additionally,
we welcome items brought in by your employees, because we know that
cellars and garages are magnets for old TVs, computers, monitors, air
conditioners, and other items that are hard to dispose of.
Requesting Service: Please fill in as much as you can of the
Service Request. We’ll get back to you as November 13 approaches
to confirm details of the collection.
What’s Being Recycled:
- Electronics: Computers, monitors, TVs, printers, routers,
faxes, scanners, speakers, VCR/DVD players, stereo equipment, cell
phones, PDAs, mouses, cables/wiring, etc.
- Fluorescents, etc: Straight, U-tube, circle, and compact fluorescents;
fluorescent fixtures and ballasts; other high intensity lighting;
rechargeable batteries.
- Home/Office Appliances: Air conditioners. Countertop
appliances including toasters, toaster ovens, microwaves, blenders,
etc. (No refrigerators, washing machines or other freestanding
appliances)
Logistics: IRN trucks will be traveling through Concord all day
on November 13. We’ll stop at your door, pick up the items
you’ve collected, and be on our way. We’ll tag your
items, weigh or count them at our Concord warehouse, combine them with
similar materials from other organizations, and send them to market
in truckload quantities.
Packing: We’ll have the appropriate containers to hold
your materials. But if you can put them in containers for us before
we pick them up, that will keep down time and cost.
Cost: We charge based on what you recycle. Electronics
and appliances are $0.22/pound. Fluorescents are $0.065/foot for
straight tubes, $0.50 each for shaped fluorescents, $0.62/pound for
ballasts, and $3.00/pound for rechargeable batteries. We charge
for transportation separately: The cost of $150 per hour for truck,
driver, and helper will be divided among all participating CofC members – so
the more who participate, the smaller the cost. We guarantee the
cost won’t go above $75.00; we hope it will be much less.
Service Request
We know you can’t predict exactly, but please give us an idea
what and how much you think you’ll collect. We’ll
call you a few days before November 13th to reconfirm, when you’ll
probably have a better idea what you’ll be collecting.
